Photography has always been a part of my visual language. I date back to the days of film when my first camera was a Girl Scout Brownie. Subsequently, I fell in love with my next camera, one handed down from my dad, a Zeiss Ikon shooting with 220 film, all manual, with a bellows extension. I was instantly in love with the process and graduated to a host of medium format and 35mm cameras. There was something about seeing the world through the lens of a camera that suited me. I enjoyed altering the images in the darkroom back in the day to suit my aesthetic. I finally made the painful switch to digital but fell in love again with how you could manipulate the images on the back end to create a narrative. Photoshop became my best friend allowing me the creativity I longed for. I dip in and out of this medium but it always calls me back.
